Building Tension
Horror relies heavily on what is not explicitly shown. The prose must dictate the physical constraints and sensory isolation of the protagonist long before the primary threat is revealed. In this longform ghostwriting assignment, the client needed a grounded, mature tone. The scene provided in the public document highlights how tight sentence structures and precise vocabulary serve to heighten emotional stakes.
The Collaborative Workflow
Because voice consistency is critical when ghostwriting for an established author, we utilized the preview-first methodology. I submitted the initial two pages for tone-matching. Once the client signed off on the direction, the remainder of the commission was executed and delivered.
